Elm natural edge desk with hairpin legs and epoxy resin inlay.
This beautiful desk is made from a single piece of elm with the natural edge retained to create a highly unusual shape. A very light blue epoxy resin has been used to infill selected gaps without overpowering there beautiful detail of the wood itself.
The hairpin style legs are made from steel.
This is an example of a custom desk, where I source a piece which will be unique to you. Once you approve the piece I then design the desk to your specification and keep you updated all the way through. Prices will vary depending on the wood used so message me to discuss what you are looking for and we can take it from there.
I make all items myself from my workshop in the Leicestershire countryside. For this table, I selected the elm from a local source, removed all loose bark to reveal the beautiful grain and natural edge (sometimes known as waney edge). The top was then sanded many times until it became beautifully smooth, then treated with food-safe mineral oil. The legs are formed from locally sourced oak, tapered gently to a delicate foot.
